Success doesn’t happen by accident.

It follows laws that when applied, will definitely bring you the success you desire.

This article contains 10 laws of success to help you achieve more success in life.

Let's dive right in!

#1. The Law of Cause and Effect

The law of cause and effect states that for every cause, there is an effect.

Nothing happens by accident.

There’s always a reason that explains everything that happens. This is why if you do what other successful people are doing, you will eventually get the same results they’re getting.

At the same time, if you don’t do what they’re doing, you’re not going to get what they’re getting. Nature doesn’t favor one person over another.

So if you want to be successful, happy, healthy, and confident, just find out what other people who are enjoying these things are doing and start doing it yourself.

#2. The Law of Control

The law of control states that the more you are in control of your own life, the happier you become, on the other hand, the more you’re not feeling in control of your own life, the more unhappy you become. This is what modern psychology calls “Locus of control theory”.

This theory states that your locus of control can be internal or external depending on where you feel the control exists in each area of your life.

If you feel that everything happens to you is a result of your own choices and behaviors, then you have a solid internal locus of control. This makes you feel strong and happy.

You think with clarity and you’re able to perform at your best.

If, on the other hand, you feel that your life is controlled by other factors or people that you keep blaming for your problems, then you have an external locus of control.

As a result, you feel like a victim. You feel helpless and unable to change or improve your situation.

#3. The Law of Belief

The law of belief says that, “Whatever you believe, with conviction, becomes your reality.”

Because of your deeply held beliefs, you don’t see things the way they are, but the way you are. This is why when your beliefs are self-limiting, you tend to “sell yourself short”.

You start thinking that you lack intelligence, creativity, and ability to achieve your goals in general. With such beliefs, you’re not likely to take action on your goals or reach your highest potential.

In other words, these beliefs become your reality.

If you want to succeed in life and achieve something worthwhile, one of the most important steps you need to take is to challenge your self-limiting beliefs.

Begin with imagining you had no limitations at all. When you repeatedly tell yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to, you will find a way to make that belief a reality.

Beliefs are the hardest things to change, but, like habits, they’re learned. As with bad habits, you can replace negative beliefs with positive ones.

#4. The Law of Expectations

The law of Expectations says that “Whatever you expect, with confidence, becomes your own self-fulfilling prophecy.”

In other words, whatever you expect, with confidence, you’ll get it. The more confident your expectations, the more likely you’ll increase the probabilities that you’ll achieve exactly what you’re hoping for.

When you wake up in the morning with the expectation that something wonderful will happen, a series of wonderful things, be it small or large, will happen to you in your day.

Successful people expect success, in advance. It never takes them by surprise.

On the other hand, unhappy people expect failure more often than success, and they are seldom disappointed.

#5. The Law of Attraction

The law of attraction says that your thoughts whether they were positive or negative, activated by your emotions, create a force field of energy around you.

This energy attracts into your life people and circumstances that are in harmony with these thoughts. As a result, if you think positive thoughts, you attract positive people and circumstances.

On the other hand, if you think negative thoughts, you attract negative people and circumstances. People who are continually thinking and talk about the things they want, are attracting them.

By the same token, people who are constantly thinking and complaining about the things that cause them to feel angry and frustrated and attracting more of these things into their lives.

One of the most important habits you can develop is the habit of filling your mind and life with exciting and positive images and thoughts of the things you want to see materialize in your life.

#6. The Law of Correspondence

The law of correspondence says that, “Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.”

Wherever you look in your life, you see yourself reflected back at you. People are treating you the way you’re treating them.

The way you think about your body is reflected in your health habits. The way you think about success will be reflected in the result that you enjoy in your career. You find yourself moving in the direction of your dominant thoughts. In other words, “you become what you think about – most of the time.”

By controlling your conscious thoughts, you become able to control your world and shape your own life.

#7. The Law of Habit

The law of habit says that, “Whatever you do repeatedly eventually becomes a new habit.”

This means that whatever you want to make it habit in your life, all you need to do is repeat it often enough and long enough.

#8. The Law of Emotion

The law of emotion says that, “Every action that you take is stimulated by an emotion of some kind, either positive or negative.”

When you spend most of your time thinking about the things you want, and how to get them, you become focused on achieving these goals.

At the same time, you start spending less time thinking about the things that you don’t want and thus you begin to eliminate doubts and fears that might hold you back from reaching your goals.

#9. The Law of Concentration

The law of concentration says that, “Whatever you dwell upon, grows and expands in your life.”

In other words, whatever you think about most of the time, increases. The more you think about your goals and how to achieve them, the faster you’ll move toward them.

By the same token, when you focus so much of your energy on positive, constructive thought, you’ll have less energy available to dwell on your fears and worries.

#10. The Law of Subconscious Activity

The law of subconscious activity says that, “Your subconscious mind accepts any thought, plan or goal created by the conscious mind, and then organizes your thoughts and behaviors to bring that goal into reality.”

This means that whatever thought or goal you repeat in your conscious mind, will eventually be accepted by your subconscious mind, which, in turn, start working 24 hours to align your thoughts with your actions so you can move faster toward your goals.

Action Steps

If you want to succeed in your life, you need to start thinking, talking, and act like a successful person would think, talk, and act. Below are some steps you can take to shift your way of thinking and become successful.

- Determine the most important reasons why some people in your field are more successful than others.

- Accept complete responsibility for your own life by refusing to make excuses or to blame others and circumstances for anything.

- Identify your self-limiting beliefs that you think are holding you back from success and challenge them by determining how true they are.

- Identify your dominant thoughts and decide whether they’re what you want to attract more in your life or not. If not replace them by thinking more about what you want.
