14 Epic Quotes Only Shopaholic Can Relate To

Buying something new can give us some kind of satisfaction, an attempt to satisfy our needs and feel whole and complete. However, it can also leave us feeling emptier than we were feeling before buying it. Feeling guilty even. I’m not posting this to tell you to stop buying, but I’m posting these quotes that I loved from “Confessions of a shopaholic” and " Shopaholic abroad" by Sophie Kinsella to let you know that you’re not alone, so you don’t have to feel that bad about it.

1- “I love new clothes. If everyone could just wear new clothes everyday, I reckon depression wouldn’t exist anymore.”
― Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic
2- “A man will never love you or treat you as well as a store. If a man doesn’t fit, you can’t exchange him seven days later for a gorgeous cashmere sweater. And a store always smells good. A store can awaken a lust for things you never even knew you needed. And when your fingers first grasp those shiny, new bags…”
Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic
3- “I honestly feel as though I’ve run an obstacle course to get here. In fact, I think, they should list shopping as a cardiovascular activity. My heart never beats as fast as it does when I see a “reduced by 50 percent” sign.”
Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic

4- “Shopping is actually very similar to farming a field. You can't keep buying the same thing, you have to have a bit of variety. Otherwise you get bored and stop enjoying yourself.”
Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic
5- “So I buy it. The most perfect little cardigan in the world. People will call me the Girl in the Gray Cardigan. I’ll be able to live in it. Really, it’s an investment.”
Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic
6- “I did a lot of shopping for her in Tokyo because the colors here are very conservative. A shopaholic would have a coat in every color and lots of accessories”
Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic

7- “That moment. That instant when your fingers curl round the handles of a shiny, ungreased bag—and all the gorgeous new things inside it become yours. What’s it like? It’s like going hungry for days, then cramming your mouth full of warm buttered toast. It’s like waking up and realizing it’s the weekend. It’s like the better moments of sex. Everything else is blocked out of your mind. It’s pure, selfish pleasure.”
- Sophie Kinsella - Confessions of a Shopaholic
8- “I’m already pushing my way through the doors. Oh God, the relief. The warmth, the light. This is where I belong. This is my natural habitat.”
Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic
9- “I mean, visiting any shop for the first time is exciting. There’s always that electric buzz as you push open the door; that hope, that belief , that this is going to be the shop of all shops, which will bring you everything you ever wanted, at magically low prices.”
Sophie Kinsella, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan

10- “God, I adore shopping abroad. I mean, shopping anywhere is always great—but the advantages of doing it abroad are:
1. You can buy things you can’t get in Britain.
2. You can name-drop when you get back home. (“Actually, I picked this up in New York.”)
3. Foreign money doesn’t count, so you can spend as much as you like.
OK, I know that last one isn’t entirely true. Somewhere in my head I know that dollars are proper money, with a real value. But I mean, look at them. I just can’t take them seriously. I’ve got a whole wodge of them in my purse, and I feel as though I’m carrying around the bank from a Monopoly set.”
