5 Mindset Principles of Successful People

Success isn't a matter of luck, it's not like some people are meant to succeed and others aren't.
Below are some success principles that can help you to become successful too :

1. Start with clear, written goals and objectives

The clearer you are about your goals and objectives, the more efficient and effective you will be in achieving them. People with clear objectives, accomplish them faster than others who don’t have clear written objectives and goals.
For that writing your goals, be it small or big, in the short term or in the long term, is the most important step to achieve them. When you write something down, you let it sink into your subconscious mind so you can figure out efficient ways to get them done.

« The average person starts life traveling through an unmapped and uncharted world with no road map. This is the equivalent of starting off in life with no goals and plans. He or she simply figures things out as he or she goes along. Often, ten or twenty years of work will go past and the individual is still broke, unhappy in his or her job, dissatisfied with his or her marriage and making little progress. And still, he or she goes home every night and watches television, wishing and hoping that things would get better. But they seldom do. Not by themselves. » ― Brian Tracy – Goals!

2. Develop a burning desire

When you want something so bad, you create energy within you that will allow you to overcome any obstacles that will arise in your path toward that goal. With this strong desire, you can be sure that you’ll eventually get what you want. When asked about the secret of success, H. L. Hunt, the great oil billionaire, replied First, you must know exactly what it is you want. Second, you must determine the price that you will have to pay to achieve it, and then get busy paying that price.
3. Prioritize

The worst use of your time would be doing what need not be done at all. The rule of the Pareto says that 20% of your activities are responsible for 80% of your productivity, these activities are the highest value ones that you need to do first thing. Identify your highest value activities and focus on them, delegate or eliminate the rest if you can.
4. By doing more than you are paid for, you’ll always be paid more than you are getting now

One key to great success is to “go the extra mile”, by adding greater value to your work and achieving better results, you open up opportunities for yourself to be paid more. Think about what more you can do, do your job properly and quickly and ask your subordinates for more responsibility. Focus on your high-value activities, what you can do best and what will give your work a greater value and do it first.

5. Frugality: Live below your means

Social media is promoting the idea that millionaire is living a lavish life. The things is, first-generation millionaires, live below their means, and this is how they accumulate wealth. The other millionaires who had inherited wealth or who had had it after becoming a famous actor or singer or a football player would usually spend a large part of their money which makes their net worth a lot less than it should be.
A lot of people think that having more income will solve their financial problems, but the truth is expenses rise with the rise of the income. When you start making more money, you start thinking of upgrading your life. What wealthy people do, is that they save the extra rise of the income and invest it while keeping the same level of life. The key to frugality is to live on a budget and to find the discipline to follow that budget. Frugality isn’t about depriving yourself of any pleasure, it’s about not being wasteful.
